- Multifunctional station: multiple supported roles.
- Fixed relay: relay mode for a fixed deployment.
- Choose by site task, then review accessories.
The fixed version has a narrower job
DJI describes the D-RTK 3 Multifunctional Station as supporting base-station, relay and rover roles. The Relay Fixed Deployment Version supports relay mode only and is mainly intended for fixed Dock 3 deployment.
If the order is for a survey reference workflow, select the multifunctional station and its relevant field accessories. If the problem is a Dock site’s communication arrangement, review the fixed relay. Do not substitute the latter because it shares the series name.

Translate the site problem into an order
| Need | Review | Question before buying |
|---|---|---|
| Field reference for mapping | Multifunctional station | Which reference method and setup will this project use? |
| A fixed Dock communication link | Relay Fixed Deployment Version | Where will it be mounted and how will it be serviced? |
| Transportable use across multiple tasks | Multifunctional station | Is the intended mode supported by the exact aircraft and firmware? |
| Survey pole and tripod | Separate field accessory kit | Does the selected package contain the mounting equipment needed? |
Location matters as much as mode
A relay placed behind the same obstruction as the Dock will not resolve the underlying site geometry. Review the route between the aircraft, relay and Dock together. Include power, mounting access and routine checks in the site plan.
For a field reference, document the setup location and the project’s reference method. Keep the independent project checks separate from the correction equipment. Owning a station is not evidence that the final mapping output meets the job’s requirements.
Keep the package explicit
The survey pole and tripod kit is its own product. Confirm the contents of the station SKU before adding it. For a fixed site, review the installed arrangement and accessories instead of copying the field kit.
Keep the selected model explicit in the equipment order. Choose the field mounting arrangement for a surveying kit, or the planned fixed installation arrangement for a relay site. Review those separately from the station’s operating mode.
