- Name the limitation behind the upgrade.
- Check retained equipment individually.
- Compare a complete task with the receiving team.
State the reason to change
For photographic mapping, start with one observed limitation in the current workflow. It may be a difficult capture, a missing handoff, a support burden or a production bottleneck. Write down the actual problem so the trial can establish whether it improves.
Matrice 4E is a current option in this store. The older platform remains a comparison reference in this guide; it is not being added to the sellable list. Use the existing working kit and a representative assignment as the baseline.

Compare the processed site, not just the flight
Use a familiar mapping assignment and the same receiving format. Inspect areas that were difficult in the current workflow: roof edges, repeating surfaces, shadows or missing coverage. Keep method changes visible when comparing the outputs.
Record manual correction and export work alongside collection time. A faster collection is not automatically a faster accepted delivery if the production team needs additional repair or a different software path.
What to keep in the comparison
| Trial area | What to record |
|---|---|
| Capture | Use the same site, reference and intended output. |
| Reconstruction | Inspect blur, coverage and difficult surfaces. |
| Delivery | Open the actual export in the receiving tool. |
Build a transition order and crew procedure
Check the selected edition’s In the Box before ordering support equipment. Verify batteries, charging, controller and accessories individually; an older kit should not be transferred by assumption. Separate confirmed reuse from equipment needing replacement.
Keep original project records and note capture or processing changes that affect comparisons with previous work. Run one complete task with the new kit and update the specific operator and receiving-team steps that changed. The transition is complete when the crew can use the new output without relying on the demonstration operator.
