Two different stages of production
DJI Terra is the reconstruction and processing tool in this workflow. DJI Modify handles editing of supported reconstructed models and point clouds. Check the current supported workflow and license requirements for your particular input and output.
Separate these stages in the project record. Reconstruction determines what the capture supports. Editing changes the presented or delivered result. A clean edited model should not hide a capture gap that matters to its intended use.

Review before editing
Inspect missing coverage, distorted geometry, reference alignment and the project’s independent checks. Decide whether an issue should be solved by another capture, a reconstruction setting or an edit. Record that decision before changing the result.
Keep an untouched reconstruction as a comparison copy. If another reviewer questions a removed object or repaired surface, the team should be able to distinguish original geometry from an editorial change.
A production folder that another operator can follow
| Folder or record | Contains |
|---|---|
| Original capture | Untouched input files and field notes. |
| Processing record | Software version, settings and references. |
| Reviewed reconstruction | Output before editing and the issues found. |
| Edit record | Changes, purpose and retained comparison copy. |
| Delivery | Accepted export, reference information and review notes. |
Test the final export
Open the actual exported file in the receiving application. Check units, coordinate reference, extent and any required layers or attributes. A successful preview inside the processing software is only one stage of the handoff.
Software licenses and training are separate selections from hardware. Use a supported sample project to rehearse the process, then a representative field project to establish whether the team can deliver the required output.
