- Name the limitation behind the upgrade.
- Check retained equipment individually.
- Compare a complete task with the receiving team.
State the reason to change
For thermal response, start with one observed limitation in the current workflow. It may be a difficult capture, a missing handoff, a support burden or a production bottleneck. Write down the actual problem so the trial can establish whether it improves.
Matrice 4T is a current option in this store. The older platform remains a comparison reference in this guide; it is not being added to the sellable list. Use the existing working kit and a representative assignment as the baseline.

Test the information handoff
Create the same kind of observation your incident team normally receives. Compare whether the new capture helps the receiving crew identify the subject or asset. Keep location, time and visual context in the same record so the comparison is about usable information.
During the trial, record any new settings or interface steps the operator needs to learn. Use those specific differences to update the crew procedure. Avoid a transition plan that consists only of aircraft familiarization.
What to keep in the comparison
| Trial area | What to record |
|---|---|
| Deployment | Pack, travel and set up the working kit. |
| Observation | Create a located thermal candidate with visual context. |
| Handoff | Have another crew act on the observation. |
Build a transition order and crew procedure
Check the selected edition’s In the Box before ordering support equipment. Verify batteries, charging, controller and accessories individually; an older kit should not be transferred by assumption. Separate confirmed reuse from equipment needing replacement.
Keep original project records and note capture or processing changes that affect comparisons with previous work. Run one complete task with the new kit and update the specific operator and receiving-team steps that changed. The transition is complete when the crew can use the new output without relying on the demonstration operator.
